Support our work
For trusts, foundations, local authority grant officers, commissioners and local businesses interested in supporting Community Ride Hub.
What funding does
Community Ride Hub is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. Funding does not create a return for anyone — it goes towards the cost of vehicles, driver training, insurance, and the coordination that keeps journeys running for members who would otherwise struggle to get around.
Community Ride Hub recovers some of its costs from members and from organisations that refer people to it, but that is not expected to cover everything, particularly in its early years. Grant funding, sponsorship and partnership funding sit alongside that income, under the same financial governance as every other pound Community Ride Hub receives.
How Community Ride Hub accounts for funding
- Funding decisions and financial controls sit with the Board, described on the governance page
- Community Ride Hub's Funding and Sustainability Strategy sets out how it plans to build a resilient income base
- Community Ride Hub's Social Return on Investment Framework sets out how it intends to measure the difference its services make, once it has operated long enough to measure it
Community Ride Hub is not yet able to quote passenger numbers, journey counts or outcome figures, because it has not yet operated — any such figure would be invented. What it can offer is a clear account of how it is governed, how it intends to measure impact once it can, and what a grant or gift would be spent on.
