Organisations and partners

For social care teams, NHS staff, schools, day centres and community organisations considering working with Community Ride Hub.

Where we are now

Community Ride Hub is preparing to operate. We are not yet running services, and this page describes our capability, model and intentions rather than a live offer. We would rather set this out honestly now than overstate what we can do.

What Community Ride Hub is

Community Ride Hub is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. We intend to provide transport for our members and for the people referred to us by partner organisations, under a section 19 permit once issued. We are not a taxi or private hire operator and we will not sell journeys to the general public. We will recover the cost of the journeys we provide, and any surplus will be reinvested in the service.

That matters for how organisations work with us. We are not a private hire or taxi firm looking for trade. We exist to provide transport for our members and for people referred to us by partner organisations, within the classes of passenger we intend our section 19 permit to cover once it is issued. Conversations with organisations are exactly that — conversations, not quotes.

How we work with organisations

  • Referring passengers who meet our eligibility criteria — see our referral page.
  • Discussing transport for defined groups of your service users, arranged on a cost-recovery basis rather than sold as a commercial service.
  • Discussing partnership, funding or commissioning conversations with local authorities, NHS teams, schools and community organisations.
  • Sharing our governance, safeguarding, insurance and driver assurance information so you can satisfy yourself Community Ride Hub is appropriate to work with.

Safeguarding and accessibility

When we operate, every driver will be expected to hold an enhanced DBS check and MiDAS (or equivalent) training appropriate to working with vulnerable passengers. We take safeguarding seriously, in line with our Safeguarding Policy — see our safeguarding page. Vehicle accessibility details are still being finalised as our fleet and services are confirmed.

Demand and evidence

We are actively gathering evidence of need from referring organisations as part of our own planning. If your organisation has service users who struggle to access transport, telling us about that need — even before we can act on it — helps us plan responsibly rather than guess.

Want to discuss working with us?

Email us and tell us about your organisation and the need you are seeing, or register a group transport need so it counts towards the evidence Community Ride Hub puts to funders. We treat every enquiry as a conversation, not a form to process.
