Preparing to launch · not bookable yet

Getting you where you need to be

Safe, accessible community transport for people who find it hard to travel — because of age, disability, cost, or where they live.

Current status: Community Ride Hub is preparing its community transport service. Journeys cannot yet be arranged. You can register your transport need, volunteer, or discuss a partnership with us.

What do you need to do?

Four tasks, with the limit written on the button. A gift is separate: Donate, under Get involved.

How it will work

We are not carrying passengers yet. This is how the service is designed to work once our permit is in place.

  1. 1. Get in touch

Tell us who you are and what you need. You can do that online, by email, or by phone when our number is live.

  2. 2. We check whether we can help

We look at whether you fall within the groups we are permitted to carry, and whether we can reach you.

  3. 3. You become a member

You join Community Ride Hub first so we know who you are and how to help you safely. Membership contributions and journey charges have not been set.

  4. 4. Ask for a journey when we are running

You tell us where you need to go. We say honestly if we can do it that day.

What we plan to do

Every service below is proposed. None of it is running yet, and we will say so plainly on every page until it is.

Who we help

Membership will be open to people who meet our eligibility criteria. We are not a taxi or private hire operator and we will not sell journeys to the general public.

  • Older people who no longer drive and find the bus difficult
  • Disabled people, including wheelchair users
  • Children and young people with additional needs, travelling with the right support
  • Vulnerable adults and the community groups that support them

Safety comes first

  • Drivers will be DBS-checked, trained and MiDAS-assessed
  • Vehicles will be checked daily before they go out
  • Safeguarding training for everyone who works with passengers
  • Written standards you can hold us to

Our story, briefly

Community Ride Hub was started because people in our communities are missing appointments, meals and each other for one reason: there is no way to get there.

We are a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. Our intention is that any surplus is reinvested in the service rather than paid out to individuals. We are not a charity yet, and we will not say we are until we are registered.

We are preparing to launch, and we would rather tell you that than imply we are already running.
