Who can join Community Ride Hub Connect
If buses and trains are hard for you, you may be able to join. You become a member first — then you can ask for rides.
Connect may be for you if…
- Disability or difficulty walking
- Wheelchair or mobility aid
- Getting older and finding travel harder
- Sight, memory or learning difficulties
- Finding it hard to travel alone
- Feeling stuck at home because you cannot get out
Final rules coming later
Exact rules depend on our legal permit (still [TBC]). We will update this page when that is confirmed. This is Community Ride Hub’s own service — not TfL Dial-a-Ride.
Two ways to join
- Faster way — if you have evidence
- Send a copy of something like a Blue Badge, Taxicard, PIP mobility, or a letter from a doctor or social worker. One piece is usually enough.
- If you have no paperwork
- Fill in a short form about how travel is hard for you. We may ask a professional who knows you to confirm. You do not need a medical diagnosis on the form.
Evidence that can speed things up
- Blue Badge
- Taxicard
- PIP mobility (standard or enhanced)
- Higher Rate Mobility DLA
- Higher Rate Attendance Allowance
- Registered blind or partially sighted
- Aged 85 or over
- Letter from a GP, nurse, social worker or similar
Send copies only — never original documents.
How much does it cost?
- Usual membership
- Not set yet. Membership contributions and journey charges will be published before anyone is asked to pay.
- If you are on a low income
- Concession membership is for people on a low income. Its contribution has not been set. You will need proof of benefits or a professional referral.
- Carer / companion
- Can travel with you when needed — no separate membership for them.
Where and when
- We will start in a local area first (exact places still [TBC]) — not all of London
- Pilot hours may be daytime weekdays first — exact times still to be confirmed
- Joining does not mean unlimited rides — we stay fair when we are busy
This is not a booking service yet
Community Ride Hub is preparing to operate. This page describes a proposed service. Journeys cannot yet be arranged, and nothing here is an offer of transport.
